A man has been charged by police after he allegedly stole a car while armed with a firearm on Wednesday morning.
Police will allege 31-year-old Yeronga man Shaun David Harris tapped on the window of a red Holden commodore station wagon parked on TJ Doyle Memorial Drive in Dutton Park where a man was sleeping in the back seat.
The man then allegedly demanded the 54-year-old victim for the car and keys, and the victim complied and was not hurt.
The car drove off south towards Fairfield Park.
Around 2pm police sighted a man driving the stolen car in Villa Street, Yeronga.
The man then allegedly left the vehicle and fled on foot before he was arrested without incident at a nearby railway track.
Harris did not appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today due to feeling unwell.
The matter has been adjourned to tomorrow and Harris remains in custody.
Police are appealing for anyone who has dashcam footage of the red Commodore to contact them.
