A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman and taking a baby girl from a home north of Brisbane.

A MAN has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a woman before taking a baby girl from a Moreton Bay home yesterday.
The 34-year-old allegedly assaulted the 33-year-old woman multiple times following an argument at a Narangba residence about 10am.
The woman, known to the man, was allegedly threatened with a knife before being slashed by the blade, causing a large cut to her hand.
The Mooloolaba man then left the home with a six-week-old baby girl, while the woman was transported to hospital after gaining serious injuries.
An amber alert for urgent public assistance was issued by police, before the man brought the girl to Caboolture Hospital about 11.30pm.
The baby was uninjured.
A man has been charged with multiple offences including strangulation, threatening violence and wounding.
He was refused police bail and is set to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on April 20.
