A man accused of torturing his infant son before his alleged murder at Yugar, north of Brisbane, had been employed as a youth worker, court documents have revealed.

Police charged Reinhardt (Ryan) Albert Bosch, 33, and his partner, Noemi Kondacs, 22, with murder and torture on Thursday night following the death of their seven-month-old son Rhuan Immanuel.

Police allege Bosch tortured Rhuan and assaulted him while armed with an offensive instrument causing bodily harm between April 11 and November 2, when he allegedly murdered the baby, according to court documents. It alleged the pair then prayed over their gravely injured baby boy, calling an ambulance the day after Rhuan had already died.

A former friend of the couple said they were always “very playful, bubbly people” who were “always out socialising”.

He said Reinhardt and Kondacs, who had been in a long-term relationship for several years, were devout Christians, but had changed churches quite a few times.

“They were very affectionate – I felt loved whenever I spent time with them, but they definitely had a very traditional-style relationship,” he said.

Asked whether Bosch had ever discussed wanting to become a father, the former friend said: “Always.”

Meanwhile, a former roommate, who lived with the couple for about a year, said they were “very odd”.

“I ended up leaving after an argument with Ryan because I had other views on things than he did,” she said.

“Noemi was very ‘dipsy’ and changed a lot when she moved in … she never did anything without Ryan’s input.”

It is understood Bosch was a support worker, but left and was unemployed for some time. Kondacs at one time worked in aged care and then became a support worker.

One of Bosch’s former clients said he worked with him in 2018 while he was a member of Hillsong Church.

“He (would) always try to force me to go to church,” the client said.

The former client said Bosch talked about his love of fishing and the outdoors, but was not dating Kondacs at the time.

He said he was dating a different woman, but the relationship broke down in 2018.

Neighbours of the Mount Samson Rd house said Bosch and Kondacs moved in earlier this year before Rhuan’s birth.

It is understood Bosch was also a member of Downpour Church, which took down its Facebook and Instagram accounts on Friday.

In a statement, a spokesman from Downpour said Bosch had not been a member since 2017 and it had “no knowledge of their beliefs or what their background is”.

Bosch and Kondacs appeared separately in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday morning charged with the murder of Rhuan Bosch.
