A man was allegedly stabbed in the stomach by a woman as he stepped in front of his partner who the accused attacker had lunged at with a knife, police will allege.

Jordan Rose Raper, 20, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday charged with grievous bodily harm, attempted enter dwelling with intent, possession of a knife in a public place and possess utensils or pipes that had been used.

Police will allege the Chermside West woman attended the 25-year-old man’s home in Ascot, where she had previously stayed for a few nights, to pick up some items.

Raper and a friend met the man and his 19-year old partner at the property’s driveway on Dobson St.

It’s alleged Raper became enraged, demanding further property and without warning pulled out a pocket knife and lunged towards the man’s partner.

Police will allege the man jumped in front of his partner and was stabbed in the stomach.

The man and his partner retreated into the unit while Raper tried to flee but was restrained by her friend.

Her Legal Aid lawyer Nick Hanly made an application for bail questioning the basis for the GBH charge.

“It’s very unhelpful when police prepare … objections to bail where they don’t actually outline the basis of the grievous bodily harm,” he said.

“There’s simply little evidence before the court to support (it).”

He also questioned the basis for the attempted enter premise charge which he said would likely not proceed.

Mr Hanly said his client had a solid work history up until this week when she was let go as a swimming teacher because of her tattoos.

He listed an array of mental health disorders suffered by his client, including PTSD, which she is treated for.

The court heard she had no history of violence or failing to appear.

Police prosecutor Eddie Fraser opposed bail, noting the alleged “bizarre pattern of behaviour”.

“There is an unacceptable risk of the defendant committing further offences particularly where it’s unclear as to where this behaviour is stemming from,” he alleged.

Magistrate Andrew Hackett agreed it was unclear the basis for the GBH charge and said Raper’s lack of prior history was critical in his decision to grant bail.

As part of her bail condition Raper must live at an address in Ashgrove, not contact witnesses or the victim or go to his home and she must undergo a medical exam.

The matter was adjourned to March 6.
