Wayne Anthony Sheehan found guilty of indecent dealing

An IT worker has been found guilty of child sexual offences following a trial in Maryborough District Court.

A man has been found guilty of two counts of indecent dealing after a trial at Maryborough District Court.

Wayne Anthony Sheehan, an IT worker aged 64, pleaded not guilty to performing a sex act on a teenage girl before getting her to touch him inappropriately while they were on a boat.

The incident happened between 2006 and 2007 when Sheehan was living in Maryborough.

The trial was heard before Judge Suzanne Sheridan in Maryborough District Court.

Crown prosecutor Farook Anoozer made an opening statement to the jury on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

This week, the jury found Sheehan guilty of the offences.

He was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment, suspended after serving nine months with an operational period of three years.
