Two people have been charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle and starting a wild chase through Logan that involved several police cars and a police helicopter.

It is alleged that a white 2011 Audi A4 was stolen from an address in Charlton St in Brisbane’s Hamilton between 5pm and 6.30pm on Sunday.

The Audi was located on Keyes St, Loganlea, just before 8pm, where it was then tracked by police patrol cars and a police helicopter.

It is alleged that the stolen Audi was driven through several suburbs before the occupants ditched it and found another vehicle.

“The vehicle continued to travel for some time before it was parked at a business car park at Commerce Drive, Browns Plains, where an occupant of the vehicle entered a grey Volkswagen parked nearby,” a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

“The Volkswagen continued to drive for some time before a person exited the vehicle at Runcorn, with the vehicle continuing on.”

Police deployed tyre deflation spikes at Woodridge, with the vehicle continuing to be tracked before it was intercepted at Kingston.

A police spokesman said two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and charged with a range of offences.

“A 27-year-old Logan Reserve man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evade police, driving on a disqualified licence,” the spokesman said.

“He was refused bail and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, May 6.

“A 25-year-old Woodridge woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

“She was refused bail and is due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on May 7.”

Investigations are continuing into the third person allegedly involved.
