A Brisbane university professor accused of rape has appeared in court for the first time.
The Queensland University of Technology academic, who cannot be identified at this stage of proceedings, is charged with a single count of rape.
Police will allege he and another man raped a third man at a residence in an inner suburb of Brisbane on March 25.
The two men were charged the following day by Fortitude Valley detectives.
They appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
The men’s lawyers made an application to remove the condition that they must report to police while on bail, which was unopposed by the police prosecutor.
Magistrate Peter Saggers approved the application and adjourned the matter to May 23 for mention.
The men were not required to enter a plea and remain on bail.
