Teenager charged after series of break-ins, one still on the run

A teenager has been charged with multiple offences following a series of shop break-ins at Ipswich last week. A second suspect remains at large.

A teenager has been charged with multiple offences following a series of shop break-ins at Ipswich last week.

Police allege that on February 9, between 1am and 4am, the man broke into a shop at Booval and four shops on School Rd, Redbank Plains.

The man stole a small sum of cash from one of the locations.

Following extensive investigations by the Ipswich Criminal Investigations Branch, detectives located and arrested the 19-year-old man at a Holmview, Logan, address on Monday.

He has been charged with four counts of entering premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and one count each of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, attempting to enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He was remanded in custody and was expected to reappear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on April 2.

Investigations are continuing regarding a second male involved in the alleged offences.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the offences to come forward.
