Teen pleads guilty to murdering Hervey Bay Uber driver Scott Cabrie

A 17-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to murdering a Queensland Uber driver stabbed to death during a robbery attempt.

A teenager has pleaded guilty to murdering Hervey Bay Uber driver Scott Cabrie.

The teen, who was 17 at the time and therefore cannot be identified, was one of two people charged with the murder of Mr Cabrie in February last year.

It’s alleged Mr Cabrie was killed during a robbery attempt in which he was forced into the boot of his car and escaped but was chased and fatally stabbed. His body was later found at a boat ramp.

The teenager appeared in Brisbane Supreme Court on Monday and also pleaded guilty to arson, armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Justice Peter Davis ordered a pre-sentence report with a psychological report to be prepared.

The teenager will be sentenced at a later date.

The teenager’s adult co-accused, who is facing the same charges, is due before the Maryborough Supreme Court for a mention on March 22.
