A teenager has admitted to murdering a man in Brisbane’s south earlier this year.
The juvenile from Acacia Ridge – who cannot be named for legal reasons, but was 17 years old when arrested – pleaded guilty to three charges when he was arraigned in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Tuesday.
He admitted to murdering a 19-year-old man by stabbing him multiple times with a large knife in the leg, abdomen and back outside a home on Gregory Street at Acacia Ridge on May 17 this year.
He also pleaded guilty to threatening violence towards a female on the same date in Acacia Ridge, as well as contravening an order regarding an electronic device on June 11 at Wacol.
His sentencing hearing has been scheduled for March 31 next year in the Brisbane Supreme Court.
The youth was originally charged with attempted murder, but following the 19-year-old victim’s death in the Princess Alexandra Hospital a month after the incident, the charge was upgraded.
