A teenager accused of killing a grandmother in a stolen car crash north of Brisbane will remain in custody as evidence continues to be amassed in the case against him.

The boy, who cannot be identified, is accused of crashing an allegedly stolen Audi into 69-year-old Rosemary Franzidis’s sedan on November 7 last year.

Mrs Franzidis, 69, had been driving home from church that morning along Dohles Rocks Rd at Murrumba Downs, but was tragically struck just one traffic light away from her destination.

The boy, 16 at the time, was charged with manslaughter along with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and breach of bail over the crash.

His case was briefly mentioned at Brisbane Childrens Court on Tuesday, and adjourned to the end of April.

The boy made no appearance and was represented by Legal Aid lawyer Rajiv Gill.

The court heard his defence team had received the majority of the prosecution’s brief of evidence, but further evidence was expected to arrive at the end of April.

The boy was remanded in custody for the matter’s next mention.
