Spanian’s Logan appearance ends with two men charged after police cars damaged

Two men have been charged after hundreds of eshays stormed Logan’s streets, attacking police cars, during an appearance by notorious influencer Spanian.

Two men have been charged after police cars were damaged and specialist officers had to be deployed when hundreds of people blocked streets in Logan during an appearance by notorious YouTube star Spanian on Saturday.

Videos shared on Instagram showed a huge crowd lining Bourke St in Waterford West as multiple burnouts were performed.

Police footage captured bottles thrown at a marked police car, and young men kicking the vehicle before it is forced to move from the scene.

Multiple crews attended from Logan, Gold Coast and South Brisbane districts, as well as specialist officers.

Three police cars were damaged, police say. One person was taken into custody on Saturday.

A search warrant was executed at a Moffatt Road property on Sunday, where a man was taken into custody.

The 20-year-old Waterford man has been charged with one count each of wilful damage of police property, committing public nuisance, entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence (entering an occupied police vehicle) and participating in a hoon event.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Courts on April 3.

Another related search warrant was executed at a Merino Street property, resulting in an 18-year-old man being taken into custody.

The Ridge man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, participating in a group activity for racing, burn out or other hooning offences, and evasion offence.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on April 22.

Investigators are appealing for information to identify several other people involved in the event.

Spanian, whose real name is Anthony Lees, has leveraged his gritty former life to attract a large following on social media.

The 36-year-old makes a YouTube series called Into the Hood where he travels to so called notorious neighbourhoods ranging from Alice Springs to a slum in Bulgaria.
