Police are investigating a string of attempted armed robberies in Brisbane and Logan early on Friday morning.
Three men with firearms robbed a pub on Fairfield Rd, Rocklea, and threatened a security guard, demanding cash about 1.40am.
The security guard was struck by one of the men and a shot was discharged into a wall, before the trio fled the scene in a white-coloured vehicle.
Nothing was stolen and the security guard did not require medical treatment.
Shock footage from inside the pub shows a cool, calm and collected security guard at the Rocklea establishment unfazed by the gun being pointed at his head.
The CCTV shows three offenders enter the pub, two armed with guns, and point the weapons at the security guard who is seated at the entrance.
Two masked men then guard the door with a gun pointed at the security guard’s head while another runs into the pub.
Despite the chaos, the security guard remains calm and doesn’t move from his seat.
Detective Acting Inspector Paul Fletcher said the incident was extremely serious.
“This is of concern to police. So Logan and Acacia Ridge CIB are working together on this matter so we can bring those offenders to justice,” he said.
The same group then attempted to rob another licensed premises on Mount Lindesay Hwy at Park Ridge about 2:30am.
They forced entry and fired a shot into a door but left empty-handed. No one was injured.
The white VW sedan used in the incidents was dumped in Waterford West around 3.45am.
It is believed these two incidents are linked.
“(These offences) are very serious and there’s firearms involved, which police take very seriously because of the risk to the public.”
“Please don’t approach these people and you can contact police immediately on triple-0.”
