A shot has been fired during a frightening home invasion involving three masked men on Brisbane’s northside.

Brisbane West detectives say three men entered an Allawah St, Albany Creek, home just before 10pm on Monday night.

One of the men discharged a firearm in the air as the trio fled through the front yard after a teenage boy from the house tried to chase them.

No one was injured in the incident but cash was stolen.

Multiple police units attended the scene, including the dog squad and police helicopter, however it is believed the men made their escape via a vehicle parked nearby.

All three are described as caucasian, with one of the man dressed entirely in black.

The second man was described as having an overweight build, tall, wearing a white jumper, dark jeans and carrying a firearm, while the third man was described as being thin, tall and wearing a black jumper, cargo/work pants and black boots.

“Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the community and investigations are ongoing,” police said in a statement.

“Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation is asked to contact police.”
