A prisoner has escaped from a low security South East Queensland prison – the second in just two days – sparking multiple manhunts.
Thomas William Wightman, 32, escaped from Palen Creek low custody correction centre on Thursday where he was serving an 18 month sentence for serious assault.
It is understood the escapes were not connected and Wightman is suspected to be on foot.
Police have warned the public not to approach either man if spotted, but to contact police immediately.
The escape comes as John Mitchell Connor absconded from the same prison on Tuesday morning and is yet to be found by police.
