A beloved grandmother killed in a horrific alleged stolen car crash has been remembered as a kind and generous woman by her family after her tragic death.
Rosemary Franzidis, 69, died on Thursday after an alleged stolen Audi driven by a 16-year-old boy ploughed into her sedan while she was driving on Dohles Rocks Rd at Murrumba Downs.
Sadly, Mrs Franzidis couldn’t be saved.
Her heartbroken family have remembered Mrs Franzidis as a woman of faith who was adored by her loved ones.
“Rosemary Franzidis was a much-loved wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family more than anything in the world,” a family statement said.
“A woman of strong faith, she had many church friends who will remember her fondly.
“Everybody who met Rose felt her love, kindness and generosity.
“She will be extremely missed by friends and family in South Africa, United Kingdom, Australia and the USA.
“She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, three daughters, and three beautiful
grandchildren.
“We request privacy at this time; we will not be doing any interviews or further media statements.”
Flower tributes have begun to flow at the scene of the crash, as locals pay their respects to Mrs Franzidis.
One woman tied a bouquet to the fence at the intersection where it occurred.
While she did not want to go into further detail she said her heart went out to the family.
Hannah Thomasson lives just around the corner from the scene and said she “felt sick” knowing it could have been someone she knew.
“I feel a bit sick, and I just think she should be celebrating Christmas, it’s around the corner and now her family have to deal with that grief and that just leaves you angry,” Ms Thomasson said.
