The tragic death of a woman whose car was stuck by an allegedly stolen car driven by a juvenile has sent shockwaves through the community.
Here’s what we know about what happened.
9.30am Thursday:
• Police allege a woman was carjacked at gunpoint, with her blue Audi taken from Dohles Rocks Road, Griffin.
• A corden is set up by police, with unmarked police cars deployed throughout the area to search for the Audi.
9.47am Thursday:
• Emergency services are called to reports of a two-car crash on Dohles Rocks Road at Murrumba Downs, involving an allegedly stolen blue Audi and white Toyota Corolla.
• The 69-year-old female driver of the Corolla is declared dead at the scene of the crash.
• The Audi allegedly travels a short distance after the crash before hitting a stationary sedan - an unmarked police vehicle - injuring two police officers who had been looking for the Audi.
• The alleged driver of the Audi, a 16-year-old boy, is taken into custody before being taken to the RBWH under police guard with a significant leg injury.
• The two injured police officers are taken to hospital with minor injuries.
• Police claim they found a firearm in the Audi.
• Police say they are investigating if the Audi went through a red light before the fatal crash.
1pm Thursday:
• At a media conference, Chief Superintendent Adam Guild confirms the 16-year-old was known to police and had matters before the court.
• Superintendent Guild says police were not in pursuit of the Audi at the time of the fatal crash, confirming police had several stationary vehicles and other vehicles patrolling the suburbs of Griffin and Murrumba Downs actively searching for the vehicle.
3.57pm Thursday:
• Police release footage of an allegedly stolen orange Holden hatchback, saying they believe the driver of the blue Audi could have links to its occupants.
• Witnesses claim juveniles inside an orange Barina were involved in the theft of the Audi before both cars drove off towards Murrumba Downs. Police say the Barina was seen near the crash site.
• Footage is later released showing the moment a blue Audi is followed by an orange Barina down Dohles Rocks Rd in Griffin before both cars reappear just three minutes later.
12.48pm Friday:
The beloved grandmother killed in the horrific alleged stolen car crash was being remembered as a kind and generous woman.
Rosemary Franzidis, 69, died on Thursday after an alleged stolen Audi driven by a 16-year-old boy ploughed into her sedan while she was driving on Dohles Rocks Rd at Murrumba Downs.
2.15pm Friday:
Journalists were kicked out of the courtroom moments before the teenager accused of driving the allegedly stolen car that hit and killed an innocent woman on Thursday was due to have his case heard for the first time.
