A man arrested in a hail of rubber bullets after a dramatic police chase over an alleged attempted murder in Brisbane has been extradited to Queensland.
Robert John Birch, 35, of West End, has been charged with the attempted murder of Kristopher Daniel Moore, 37, in Spring Hill.
Police allege Mr Moore, who remains in intensive care, fell about 6m from a sixth-floor balcony on to the balcony of a unit one level below at the Republic Apartments on Turbot St about 5.10am on December 5.
John Suafai Semau, 35, of the Gold Coast, and Annabelle Zoe Smith, 25, of Mango Hill, have also been charged with attempted murder and faced court earlier this month.
Birch and Smith were arrested on December 16 after an alleged chase with NSW police through oncoming traffic on the Pacific Highway in Sydney’s wealthy North Shore.
Officers fired rubber bullets at the pair through their front windscreen, before boxing the car in, while Birch was bitten by a police dog.
Footage from passing motorists showed heavily armed specialist police apprehending the pair.
Birch had his matters mentioned briefly in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
He did not appear and there was no application for bail.
All three defendants have also been charged with grievous bodily harm, enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, enter dwelling with intent by break, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.
All three have been remanded in custody and the case adjourned to February 13.
