Police are investigating a series of break and enters after several shops across two Brisbane suburbs were smashed up by young offenders driving stolen cars.
A group of offenders broke into several businesses at Graceville and Sherwood in Brisbane’s southwest on Tuesday.
Initial investigations indicate that a Holden Commodore and a Holden Civic were stolen from Corinda and Ellen Grove between 9pm and 2am on Monday night.
Officers were called to the corner of Honour Ave and Bank Rd at 4am following reports several people, along with the Commodore and Civic, were forcing access to multiple businesses and stealing property.
It is understood that they broke into 10 businesses within a 200m area and caused thousands of dollars in damage.
It was further reported a similar group was seen forcing entry to a business on Sherwood Rd, Sherwood, around that same time.
Upon police arrival, no offenders were able to be located at either location, and subsequent patrols in the area were not able to locate anyone.
The Commodore has since been located abandoned at Inala, and the Civic was located abandoned at Durack.
