Police are seeking help to identify three men after two others were arrested following a “hooning event” at Logan during a visit from notorious YouTuber Spanian last weekend.
Chaos broke out in Bourke St at Waterford West on March 9 when the Sydney rapper, whose real name is Anthony Lees, arrived to film for his Into the Hood series.
Police have alleged members of the crowd damaged three police cars, releasing footage that shows several people kicking the side of one vehicle as it attempted to drive down Bourke St.
Two men, aged 20 and 18, have been arrested and charged with property offences but police have released images of three others who “may be able to assist” in the investigation.
Spanian, 36, travels to so-called notorious neighbourhoods for his popular YouTube series.
He posted on Instagram following his Waterford West visit playing down the crowd’s interactions with police.
“I love their stories,” he said of the people from the communities he visits.
“I love how they’re proud of where they’re from. I love that I make them feel proud to represent where they’re from.
“Youse wanna have a cry because a police car got kicked? A car got kicked (and that’s) national news.
“C--- I’ve seen people punching on with coppers after a Coldplay concert. A car got kicked … I’ll kick a car now. Relax. Look past the news stories.”
