Offenders smash their way into Maryborough’s Subway restaurant

Police say offenders took off in a Mercedes after using a brick to smash a Maryborough fast food restaurant window open and steal cash and a safe.

A cash register and a safe have been stolen from a business at Maryborough’s Station Square Shopping Centre after two offenders used a brick to smash their way inside.

Police are appealing for public assistance with investigations into a break-and-enter at Subway on Tuesday.

Initial investigations indicate about 2.50am, a white Mercedes Benz sedan drove to the Lennox St business before two people got out of the vehicle.

Police say the offenders used a brick to gain access to the business, where they proceeded to steal a cash register and a safe.

They returned to the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area or have dashcam or CCTV vision around the time of the incident to come forward.
