Mum of 10yo boy allegedly kidnapped at Logan breaks silence

The still in shock mother who rescued her child from alleged kidnappers in Logan has broken her silence about the terrifying ordeal, revealing her son is traumatised.

The mother who rescued her 10-year-old from alleged kidnappers said she is still in “shock” from the incident.

It comes after footage of the incident emerged showing the parents running to aid their son, retrieving the boy from the back seat of a vehicle on Logan St in south Brisbane.

The mother can be heard yelling “Give our son back” as the group attempts to pry the door open.

The boy was allegedly “forcibly” kidnapped by a man at Adventure Park, Woodridge, on Friday, after a child allegedly threw a rock at a car.

The mother, who did not want to provide her last name, said “we are getting there, we are all in shock”.

The mum told 9News on Monday that the ordeal has “traumatised” her son.

“I hope that this never happens to you,” she told 9News.

The confrontation came after the boy was allegedly snatched by three men from a nearby skate park last Friday.

Police believe it was caused by reports the boy threw a rock at their car.

Tauvela Soe, 27, of Woodridge, was refused bail on Saturday on charges of kidnapping and assault occasioning bodily harm. He is set to reappear in court on June 10.

A Woodridge man, 22, and Kingston woman, 29, have also been charged with kidnapping and assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 16.

Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Chris Stream said on Sunday: “There will be a number of allegations which police will allege occurred involving interactions between those three persons, a 10-year-old child and also persons (who) were related to that 10-year-old child.

“Currently they’re allegations but obviously, really scary for a child to be involved in that type of (alleged) incident – as you would appreciate also very scary for parents involved, having a child allegedly abducted.”
