Mount Isa man charged with murder after alleged stabbing during altercation
A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 32-year-old man was allegedly stabbed during an altercation in the state’s northwest.

A man will face court today charged with the murder of a 32-year-old Mt Isa man.
Police are treating the death of the Townview man as murder, and this morning laid charges against a 29-year-old man, also from Townview.
Police say the alleged offender and victim were known to each other.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and are calling on witnesses following the man’s death.
Emergency services were called to the home just before 5pm Thursday, while neighbours described seeing the street fill with up to five marked police cars and three ambulances.
Police allege the 32-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body by the other man.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he passed away shortly afterwards.
It’s understood the pair had been arguing prior to the alleged stabbing.
It’s unknown what sparked the argument or if anyone else was home at the time of the incident.
The 29-year-old will face Mount Isa Magistrates Court today, charged with one count of murder.
