One of the residents of a Brisbane townhouse fired upon overnight has revealed more details about the terrifying incident.

Multiple police officers, including forensics crew, were called to the scene at Morningside about 7am on Wednesday, where bullet holes was clearly visible in a glass balustrade on a balcony.

Police confirmed two shots had been fired at the balcony.

Police cordoned off the scene on Richmond Rd, between Elba Lane and Stark Lane, about 10.15am, with detectives observed doorknocking multiple nearby residences.

The residents of the townhouse that was shot at said they were shaken after a “stranger” arrived late on Tuesday night and shot at their balcony, with one woman saying she had no idea why the shots were fired at her unit.

Another resident of the townhouse said he had woken this morning to discover two bullet holes in the glass balustrade on the balcony.

“We didn’t hear anything and we don’t know why,” he said.

“I woke up at about 5am to go to work and I came outside and found all the glass, and that’s when I realised what had happened.”

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed he had only moved in to the complex with two other people in August, and had not seen or heard any other incidents.

“We have absolutely no idea why, or who, would have done this.”

A neighbour from an adjacent address said the unit “used to have some ferals living in it, but they moved out a few months ago”.

“That’s about all I can tell you.”

Residents of the complex were earlier seen sweeping up shattered glass, which had fallen on to the driveway from the balcony.

“There was lots of police and they taped it off but we don’t know what happened at all,” one person said.

Police have asked anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
