Man’s body found after house fire west of Brisbane
Police are working with the partner of a man killed in a house fire at Lowood on Friday night as they try to determine the circumstances of the blaze.

Police are continuing to investigate a fatal house fire in Lowood overnight as they work with a woman, believed to be the deceased man’s partner, to determine the circumstances of the blaze.
Queensland Police have today confirmed initial information suggests the blaze is non-suspicious.
Two people, believed to be in a relationship, were at the Walnut Crescent property at the time of the blaze.
The man was located deceased inside the home by emergency services upon arrival, while the woman was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene.
Detectives have spoken with the woman as they work to finalise the investigation.
“Emergency services were called to the fire on Walnut Crescent just before 4pm, where a deceased male was located inside,” a police statement said.
“Police have spoken to a female witness.
“While investigation are continuing, initial information indicates the death is non-suspicious.”
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Four fire trucks, including a specialty appliance fitted with oxygen tanks and technical equipment arrived at the scene within minutes of a triple-0 call, while the Fire Investigation Unit arrived sometime later.
As of 6.15pm Friday, crews were working to dampen hot spots at the single-storey home. Officers were still assessing the damage at 8pm.
Neighbours were deeply affected by the house fire, calling it “just a tragedy”, but were unaware of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
