Man stabbed at Eli Waters Shopping Centre in Hervey Bay

A man has been rushed to hospital with a stab wound to his stomach after an incident at a regional Qld shopping centre.

A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a Hervey Bay shopping centre on Friday.

The incident happened about 10.30am at Eli Waters Shopping Centre on Ibis Boulevard.

A police spokeswoman said the man was located with a wound to his abdomen.

Officers were called to the centre in relation to a disturbance, the spokeswoman said.

A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The stabbing comes after one in the heart of Toowoomba CBD on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Margaret and Neil Streets about 7.20pm Thursday after reports a man sustained a stab wound.

Police will allege just after 7pm, the 18-year-old man became involved in a verbal argument with three males on Chronicle Lane.

Toowoomba is gripped by a crime wave, sparking an angry community forum this week attended by the Police Minister Mark Ryan.

It came after the death of 75-year-old man Robert Brown who was assaulted outside a shopping centre.
