Shocked residents at a unit complex where a tenant was killed at the weekend have revealed more details about the lead up to the mysterious incident.
On Sunday afternoon, police were called to the Yundah St unit complex at Shorncliffe where a man was found dead on his outdoor patio.
Following intense investigations, police charged a 34-year-old man with murder on Tuesday.
Police have not revealed how the 52-year-old died but it is believed the pair knew each other.
The accused was denied police bail and was set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
One resident at the large complex, Yundah Street Units, said he heard some loud talking on Saturday night, but no commotion.
He did not learn his fellow resident had been killed until a friend showed him a social media post.
The victim lived on a ground floor unit on the ocean side of the complex.
The windows of the unit were sheeted up with a plastic tarp on Wednesday morning and the blinds had been drawn.
A chair was also placed in the doorway to block the path inside.
Another resident told The Courier-Mail the man who lived there, who they said was known as “Tony”, had moved in about a year ago.
They said he often had friends over but they understood he lived there alone.
Another resident who “lived in fear” at some of the antics which happened at the complex said she didn’t hear anything unusual on Saturday night.
Detectives were also spotted questioning people at a nearby daycare centre on Wednesday morning.
