Mrs Franzidis, 69, died on Thursday, November 7 after an alleged stolen Audi driven by a 16-year-old boy ploughed into her sedan while she was driving home from church on Dohles Rocks Rd at Murrumba Downs.

Jean-Paul Franzidis said his beloved wife of 50 years “adored” their three grandchildren.

“The greatest tragedy of Rose being snatched away from us so early is not that we shall miss her, but that the grandchildren won’t experience the love she had for them,” he said.

Mr Franzidis said Rosemary was “infuriatingly generous”.

“She never had any money…the moment she got some she would go out and spend and not on herself, she would buy presents for her grandchildren and people she had just met,” he said.

“We have received flowers, cards and messages of condolence from every continent except Antarctica and for all I know the letter may be in the mail.”

Mr Franzidis said they had moved home 25 times in 49 years but wherever they went his beloved wife made a “welcoming home with a door that was always open to others including strangers who very quickly became family”.

Mrs Franzidis’ granddaughter Freya wrote a letter to her beloved granny which said: Dear granny, I miss you so much. Thank you for all the ice-cream and hugs and kisses and paintings. I will love you forever”.

While Mrs Franzidis’ daughter Alexia Franzidis described the 69-year-old as a “natural homemaker” and “super granny”.

“My mum was also a second mum to so many…no one was ever going to be an Easter or Christmas orphan on mum’s watch,” she said.

“I truly believe that love was her superpower.

“The last text message that she ever wrote to (our family) was ‘be cheerful and generous in your response’... and that was mum, always cheerful and generous… so mum, I want to be like you when I grow up.

Celebrant Fr Bryan Roe said Rosemary’s love for her family was “pure and unshakeable”.

“Her home was a place of warmth, comfort and love...let us be inspired by the way she lived,” he said.

Police allege the 16-year-old and two others arrived at a home in Griffin in a stolen orange Holden Barina where the boy threatened a woman with a firearm and stole her Audi.

Minutes later, the Audi ploughed into Mrs Franzidis and she died at the scene.

The boy was arrested at the scene, while police allege two others drove off in the Barina.

The orange Holden Barina allegedly linked to the trio was found by police a day after the crash and forensically examined.

Police allege the trio were involved in the theft of a car at Northgate and two attempted robberies on the same day of the crash.

The 16-year-old remains behind bars and will next face court in December.

Two other people have been charged with offences in the lead up to the crash and remain before the courts.

Two police officers were also injured in the Murrumba Downs crash.

It is understood the unmarked police vehicle was waiting to turn at the lights when a 16-year-old boy allegedly ran a red light and hit Mrs Franzidis’ vehicle, killing her.

The allegedly stolen vehicle then ricocheted into the stationary police vehicle, setting off its airbags and leaving the officers with bruising.
