Four teenagers - including a 13-year-old boy - have now been charged with the attempted murders of Wallabies legend Toutai Kefu, his wife Rachel and their two adult children.

The Kefu family home at Coorparoo was targeted by a group of armed youths during the early hours of Monday morning when they allegedly broke in to steal a car.

Confronted by a member of the family - believed to have been Rachel - the teens are alleged to have attacked using an axe, a machete and a knife.

The Kefus were severely injured in the attack, with Toutai suffering severe injuries to his abdomen that required emergency life saving surgery.

Rachel was left with severe injuries to her arm that also required extensive surgery, while their 21-year-old son was stabbed in the arm and back and their 18-year-old daughter was left with wounds to her arm and hand.

One of the teens - a 15-year-old from Goodna - was arrested at the scene after a neighbour tackled him to the ground and restrained him.

He was charged on August 16 with 11 offences, including four counts of attempted murder, three of grievous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, burglary, enter dwelling with intent while armed and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A second 15-year-old boy, from Springfield Lakes, allegedly fled the scene but was later dropped at the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a stab wound to his back.

Another teen, a 15-year-old from Browns Plains, was arrested and charged yesterday with the same offences.

And a 13-year-old Inala boy, who was initially charged only with burglary offences, is now facing the same 11 charges, including four counts of attempted murder.

All four were denied police bail to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court.
