Ex-Mongol gunned down at funeral

Simmering bikie tensions have exploded with the dramatic shooting of a former high-profile member of the Queensland-headquartered Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang at a funeral.

Sam ‘The Punisher’ Abdulrahim was gunned down in a brazen ambush at his cousin’s funeral in Melbourne on Saturday.

It’s understood the kickboxer was leaving the service and was about to drive off in his black Mercedes 4WD when it was peppered with bullets.

He was in a critical condition in Royal Melbourne Hospital after driving to Fawkner police station where an ambulance was called.

Abdulrahim was one of several bikies expelled from the Mongols in recent months as the gang’s Gold Coast-based national president, Nick ‘The Knife’ Forbes, reasserted authority following his release from jail and parole.

It’s not suggested Forbes had anything to do with the shooting.

Abdulrahim was booted along with allies fellow prominent Melbourne-based Mongols members including Toby Mitchell, Mark Balsillie and Jason Addison.

The attack on Abdulrahim came just days after Addison was brutally bashed at a motorbike show in regional Victoria, with an underworld source warning: “They’re all targets now.”

Abdulrahim briefly dated Gold Coast-based former Married At First Sight star Jessika Power in 2019 following his release from jail for hitting and killing an 88-year-old grandfather in his Ferrari.

He went to court last year to regain his driver’s licence, despite strong opposition from police.

Gangland sources said Balsillie and Abdulrahim were kicked out of the Mongols for “treachery” to the gang and their close association with Mitchell.

It’s believed they were ordered to fly from Melbourne to the Gold Coast to face gang bosses.

Mitchell was kicked out of the Mongols on April 1 in what he initially thought was an April Fool’s joke.

The Instafamous ex-bikie, who has more than 350,000 social media followers, was accused of ‘running with dogs’ (police witnesses).

He also upset powerful Melbourne crime figures with a recent Instagram post in which he tagged some of them in a photo.
