Former cop Frank Carlucci disputes facts surroundings his drug trafficking allegations

A former Victorian police officer’s drug trafficking case has been hit with delays after key facts were disputed by his legal representative.

A former police officer has faced delays in court proceedings after his legal representative disputed key facts in relation to his drug trafficking allegations.

Frank Carlucci faced the Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday for a string of drug-related charges. He has not entered any pleas to the charges.

The court heard the matter was listed for sentence, but Mr Carlucci’s lawyer raised disagreements towards the statement of facts presented in the court.

The court heard that the disputes surrounded whether the drugs and the drivers were paid and how much was involved.

Justice Tom Sullivan adjourned the matter to July 23 for the parties to clarify the facts.

“I think we need to understand what the base of this sentence is going to be and whether it’s going to be contested,” he said.

Mr Carlucci was charged after police raided a Gold Coast party precinct in 2022 where they allegedly found 35.2g of MDMA, 114.3g of cannabis, 95 bottles of steroids and 65g of cocaine.

He faced eight counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possessing utensils and possessing prescription medication.
He had also previously served in the Victoria Police but resigned years ago.

Mr Carlucci remained on bail.
