A 49-year-old man has been arrested and a crime scene has been declared in Hamilton by police after a third suspicious house fire broke out in the Brisbane suburb in recent weeks.
On Tuesday afternoon emergency services were called to a home engulfed in flames, just weeks after fire crews battled a ferocious blaze at the same address.
The home, on the corner of Nudgee Rd and Allen St, went up in flames about 2.25pm.
A spokesman from Queensland Police Service confirmed that a man was currently being held in custody at Hendra Police Station in relation to the fires.
He is currently assisting police officers with their inquiries.
The details of the fire are markedly similar to a blaze at the same address just two weeks ago.
The cause of the fire at the same address on June 1, which also started about 2.25pm, has not been determined, however police suspect arson.
A day prior, a neighbouring house also went up in flames.
The two homes involved in the fires are both owned by the same development company, Delkins Project 1 Pty Ltd.
Both were earmarked for a large-scale townhouse development.
Police and fire crews have not determined a cause for any of the fires, but police are investigating.
