Ex-Kimberley College principal Paul Thompson facing three charges of fraud as an employee

The fraud trial of the former school principal and founder of Kimberley College, his daughter and son-in-law has been set down to run for six weeks in October.
In the District Court in Brisbane on Friday Judge Ian Dearden set the joint trial for Paul Thomson, 79, his daughter Amy Leigh Ferguson, 39, and son-in-law Kevin Robert Ferguson, 38, to kick off on October 6.
They were employed at the independent college at Carbrook, in the City of Logan, with Amy the private school’s chief financial officer.
Ex-principal, Mr Thomson, is facing three charges of fraud as an employee, with two alleged to have occurred on July 12, 2016 and the third alleged to have occurred between August 25 and November 22, 2016.
His daughter Amy is charged with eight charges of fraud alleged to have occurred on diverse dates between November 15, 2012 and November 22, 2016; October 8, 2013 and August 5, 2016; 21 May 2014 and 16 March 2018; March 2016 and November 2016 and May and November 2016.
Her husband Kevin is facing charges of receiving tainted property between May 26 and November 22, 2016 as well as receiving tainted property between August 25 and November 22, 2016.
Kevin is also charged with fraud on July 12, 2016 and receiving tainted property on the same date.
The trio were charged in September 2019.
A trial review has been set down for September 26.
