Four Extinction Rebellion protesters have been arrested after they shut down William Jolly Bridge in the Brisbane CBD by locking themselves on to a kayak.
Protesters parked a ute across two lanes at the intersection of William Jolly Bridge and Coronation Drive, with a kayak and four people in the middle of the road.
The climate protest caused delays for people entering the city this morning, with the Inner City Bypass heavily congested.
There were also delays on Coronation Drive and Grey Street back to West End.

Police removed and arrested the protesters who locked their arms into metal pipes that are attached to the kayak.
They also splashed blue paint across the road surrounding the kayak.
William Jolly Bridge has reopened to traffic and delays across the Brisbane CBD are easing.
One of the protesters, who claims to be an environmental scientist, says they are protesting Australia’s net-zero target.
“Australia’s net-zero plan is that science project you got a D for in Grade Seven. You completely forgot about it and then the day it was due you threw some baking powder and water on a pile of dirt, called it a volcano, and hoped no one noticed. Newsflash Scott Morrison, we noticed,” she said.
