Police have charged a man with dangerous driving after a fiery crash left four people with extensive injuries in March.

Ipswich Forensic Crash Unit investigators will allege that on March 18 at 11.11pm a 21-year-old man was driving a white Ford Falcon sedan in Chris St, Redbank, when it struck a parked truck.

The driver and four passengers were entrapped in the Falcon as it caught fire but were freed before it took hold.

Two people were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, a male in his 20s with head injuries in a serious but stable condition and a stable teenage girl who was initially encapsulated with minor injuries.

Two were driven to Princess Alexandra Hospital, a male in his 20s with a significant arm injury in a stable condition and a female in her 20s with head and pelvis injuries in a serious but stable condition.

In an earlier statement police said detectives were investigating if a vehicle seen driving dangerously in the area at approximately 11:00pm was the Falcon prior to the crash.

On Monday a 21-year-old Redbank man was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, driving of a motor vehicle without a licence, driving while over the no alcohol limit but under the general alcohol limit, drive a defective motor vehicle, alter or defacing registration number plates and use or permitting use of vehicle for which number plate altered.

He was due to face the Ipswich Magistrates Court on October 3.
