Apple drops white colour scheme with new iMac Pro

APPLE’S latest high-powered iMac Pro goes on sale tomorrow and fans can expect a very different look from the company’s traditional design.

APPLE fans, prepare to get jealous.

The tech titan on Friday (AEST) will roll out a black Lightning cable, the first time the company has produced a desktop computer or cable that wasn’t white.

But getting your hands on the black Lightning cable will cost you an arm and a leg.

That’s because the only way to get one is by buying a new iMac Pro, which goes on sale tomorrow and carries a hefty price tag. While Australian pricing is still to be confirmed, the new desktop starts at $US5000, or about $A6550.

The iMac Pro will come in space grey — from its monitor to its keyboard and mouse.

Prior to the launch of the iMac Pro, customers who wanted alternative colour options had to go with cables and accessories made by third-party companies.

The iMac Pro will be Apple’s new standard-bearer for a high-performance computer. The Pro features and a 27-inch retina display.

The pricey machine is built for studio-level audio and video work.
