MOONEE VALLEY

Eagle Farm Race 1
1400m, 3YO, 12.17pm
In the run: Another Slipper has the speed to lead, based on his deeds at Ipswich. Quick And Easy to keep him company. Prince Of Flinders, Social Vampire handy.
Take note: I Remember You ran on solidly last week for the Bevan Laming stable and looks suited going to the extra trip, whereas others in the market like Social Vampire have to come back from the mile.
Did you know: Another Slipper ran a slick 69.4 for the 1200m at Ipswich. None of his rivals have a speed rating to get anywhere near that figure. Has to stretch to 1400m, but shouldn’t be an issue given his closing 200m was among the best of the day, despite not being fully pressured. Holds a nomination for the Caulfield Guineas.
Early money: Good battle for favouritism between Another Slipper and Social Vampire ($3.80).
Nathan’s tip: Another Slipper $3.60
Nathan’s danger: I Remember You $14
BRAD DAVIDSON & SHAYNE O’CASS PREVIEW THE RANDWICK MEETING
Randwick Race 6
Furious Stakes
1200m, 3yo F G2, 3.10pm
In the run: Should be speed aplenty. Global Glamour, I’m Imogen and Rebel miss have been effective from the front. Rather Sweet, Overstep, Foxplay handy.
Take note: I Am A Star opted for this over Moonee Valley after drawing wide there. Ran time as a 2YO and lived up to it fresh. Jumped well, but went right back from the gate and rounded them out. Second horse has won since.
Did you know: On debut in January, Global Glamour ran .8 quicker than the other maiden, had the fastest early splits and then best late sectionals of all winners on the day. Looks well above average and has trialled nicely. Also, proven on the heavy ground.
Early money: Chris Waller’s Awoke ($6) clocked excellent overall figures beating Foxplay last time and she’s been very popular in early trading. Question is whether she needs further?
Nathan’s tip: I Am A Star $5.50
Nathan’s danger: Global Glamour $6.50
THE EARLY OIL: MOONEE VALLEY

Moonee Valley Race 6
Atlantic Jewel
1200m, 3yo F LR, 3.30pm
In the run: Athena Lass can lead again. Plenty of others who will want to be up handy and should be genuinely run.
Take note: Sebring Dream came off a terrific debut in the very fast I Am A Star Flemington race (3rd horse won by 4L on Thursday) to easily win over 1400m next time out. She looks well above average and this seems a nice starting point.
Did you know: Athena Lass and Merriest both ran well behind I Am A Star first up at Caulfield. Athena has a win on the board at this track, while Merriest did produce big debut figures before going under next two. That form stacks up for this.
Early money: Huge watch on Fastnet Rock’s little sister Piccadillies ($4.80), who has been scratched a number of times. Trial perves were impressed with what she produced and money has arrived for her (again).
Nathan’s tip: Sebring Dream $7.50
Nathan’s danger: Athena Lass $6.50
STABLE WATCH: ROYAL RANDWICK
SPORTSMAN: SYDNEY PREVIEW
Randwick, Race 8
Tramway Stakes
1400m, SW+P G2, 4.30pm
In the run: Pace looks average, unless Messene pours on the pressure early. Dibayani can race handy, as can It’s Somewhat, Cosmic Cube and Le Romain.
Take note: Hauraki garnered a ‘non-winner’ reputation last season, but mostly he raced against the very best. This is short of his best, but 1400m record is solid and on the fresh side, no reason he can’t race well fresh into easier race than he’s accustomed.
Did you know: Won’t find many horses weighted better on Saturday than Dibayani. G1 performed at WFA last season, yet gets in here with only 55kg owing to the fact he hasn’t won for so long. Big fresh run and second up form is most consistent. Placed to break the run of outs here.
Early money: Dibayani is in from $8. Sadler’s Lake has been $9-$7.
Nathan’s tip: Dibayani $6
Nathan’s danger: Hauraki $8.50
