BEAT THE BOOKIE: VALUE BETS

RANDWICK

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: RANDWICK

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 22901

ATTAINMENT

Race 4, No. 1

Has returned to racing in brilliant form this winter. He finally won his maiden at Wodonga then ran on well when second to the smart King’s Officer in a TAB Highway at Rosehill. He then destroyed a good field at Canberra by nearly seventh lengths. Attainment excels on wet tracks and with a 3kg claim he is weighted to win.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.50

NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Form: 061x4

CHEEKY BABE

Race 9, No. 13

Has a touch of class and capable of ripping out a quick sectional. Nicely placed down on the minimum and the wide gate will suit.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.80

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: x1114

EL NOVIO

Race 6, No. 5

Leading trainer Chris Waller had this gelding ready to pounce over 2200m at Randwick on June 11 on a wet track and he did the job in fine style. Kept up to the mark with 5th Arsonist 1030m R’hill barrier trial Soft (6) June 28. Will prove very hard to beat again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 423x4

ATTAINMENT

Race 4, No. 1

Looks a weighted certainty with the claim for Andrew Adkins. Ploughed through a bottomless track to score with ease at Canberra last start. He stands out, on what is a tricky card.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.50

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 0852x

McCREERY

Race 7, No. 6

Has a good race in him. The Waller-trained four-year-old has raced here three times for a close debut second at Rosehill (midweeker) than a dramatic win at Gosford after that (he ran about a bit late but Bowman carried him over the line) and then that first-up 6th of 11 at Rosehill on June 4. I thought he closed off OK from the back.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 10375

GUARD OF HONOUR

Race 1, No. 2

Kicked away for a strong win on a slow track at Warwick Farm first-up. Looks to have ability and if he can continue his winning ways could develop into an early spring player.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.80

FLEMINGTON

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: FLEMINGTON

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 45310

TRENCHANT

Race 4, No. 2

TAB Fixed Odds: $3

DARLY TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 021x1

VOODOO LAD

Race 5, No. 3

Hasn’t missed a place on rain affected going, including a win and a third on the heavy. Handled the lift in class last time and can win again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.25

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 21216

VOODOO LAD

Race 5, No. 3

Recent addition to the all conquering DK Weir stable who has had two wins and a narrow defeat since the stable change.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.25

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 20246

TELOPEA

Race 9, No. 5

Narrowly beaten last start over the same trip and distance, but thrashed rest of the field and can handle the soft going. Craig Williams on board which could make all the difference.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS

DOOMBEN

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: DOOMBEN

BEN DORRIES (The Courier-Mail). Form: 370x5

OBERLAND

Race 8, No. 9

Won by four lengths resuming, steps up in class here but looks to be all quality. Gets inside gate and in-form jockey Jeff Lloyd.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50

BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 52375

ROYAL TITHE

Race 1, No. 7

Talented two-year-old who just found herself in the wrong part of the track at Eagle Farm last start. With that in mind, her performance was better than it looked and the return to Doomben is only a plus. She has finished in the top two at four of five runs at this track and she has drawn ideally in barrier four. She gets in well under the conditions of the race and should go close.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50

MORPHETTVILLE

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: MORPHETTVILLE

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 603x4

GENERAL CUSTER

Race 2, No. 3

Really hit form with impressive wins at his past two starts at Morphettville. Not as well drawn this time but loves the sting out of the ground. Expect him to be finishing hard with Jamie Kah in the saddle.

TAB Fixed Odds: $1.80

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 313x6

GENERAL CUSTER

Race 2, No. 3

Impressive winning his past two here in Adelaide in similar company and is well weighted again. Andrew Noblet has this horse flying and should win again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $1.80
