Guy Walters adamant you'll see the real Streama in the Tatterall's Tiara

GUY Walter is convinced the real Streama is back and insists the mare would have won the Stradbroke Handicap if she had drawn a better barrier.

GUY Walter is convinced the real Streama is back with a vengeance and insists the mare would have won the Stradbroke Handicap if she had drawn a better barrier.

However Walter is concerned that her effort to run third in the Stradbroke after a wide run, combined with a long campaign, might have sapped some of her zip for Saturday's Group 1 Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm.

Walter also has another Tiara fancy, evergreen seven-year-old Skyerush, and insists she is in the form of her life after producing three Group wins from four starts this year.

Walter's pair worked at Eagle Farm yesterday and after watching Streama in a fast gallop, the astute trainer insisted the dual-Group 1 winner was back to her outstanding three-year-old form.

His only concern was whether she had one more big run in her this campaign," Walter said.

"Prior to the Stradbroke, it was pretty hard to get a line on whether she was quite as good as she once was."

"But I think the Stradbroke showed she is. With a decent barrier, I think she probably would have won the Stradbroke.

"My only concern with her going into the Tiara is that I am asking her to sprint again at the end of a long campaign. On the other hand, she is a high-class mare and we have put her to the test on many occasions and she has passed with flying colours."

Although Walter is not convinced Streama needs blinkers, they will be used on Saturday after he felt they gave her an edge in the Stradbroke.
