+ and imposing Sherwood edge out Morningside in the match of the round, 8-5-53 to 6-6-44.
Those results place Wilston Grange and Morningside as the unbeaten teams three matches into the season.
Marcus Zipf and Tom Gregory (Wilston Grange)
The Gorillas have come terrific footy talent flowing through the club, and keeping them upbeat during training and on game day is ace athletic ruckman Marcus Zipf and forward Tom Gregory forward.
Jet Randall, Zack Keogh and Gus Phillips (Redland-Victoria Point)
The Sharks leading goal kicker in 2023, Keogh was a strong marking key forward ace but someone who also kept the spirits up, along with small defender Jet Randall and rebounding backman Gus Phillips.
Judah Crocker and Indigo Hollis (Aspley)
Midfield ace Crocker is a man of many talents at the Hornets, one of the club’s top players who can also raise the morale of those around him. But he has a partner in crime when it comes to lifting spirits, dependable back man Indigo Hollis
Cooper Short (Morningside)
He is one of the babes of the competition, a young forward who was still eligible for under 17s. A local junior who has come through the ranks, Short also had a personality which was loved by his colts squad teammates.
Jaden Willis, James Carrigan and Lachlan Douherty (Surfers Paradise)
The Demons have three tremendous leaders off the field in midfield and back man Jaden Willis, the versatile James Carrigan who successfully wings between midfield and forward, and forward specialist Lachlan Douherty. They’ll keep the party going - win, lose or draw.
Jed Bullman, Zak Korybutiak and Jago Roberts (Noosa)
Bullman is one of the beasts of the competition, a gun midfielder who, along with Zak Korybutiak, were among the Tigers’ very best last season. They are great around the group, and so is young Jago Roberts.
Jack Partridge Ollie Wollie (Broadbeach)
Who would not like this dynamic duo around the club. Simply put, they bring the fun to footy. More power to them.
Aidan Brennan (Sherwood)
Brennan is a beast of a talent across half back or half forward, but was also someone the younger players find positive at all times. “He also uses his voice well at training,’’ noted coach Ben Jaenke-Cain
Takoda Boltong (Maroochydore)
Boltong was a prodigious junior talent from the Bay Power junior system in Hervey Bay who was identified by the Lions as a player of promise. Now at the Roos, both he and Jayden Banks were great off the field as well around the group.
Reilly Sherlock-Clark (Labrador)
Sherlock-Clark is exactly the type of young man you want around the club, someone who leads by example at training which flows through onto the field come Saturday’s at 9.30am.
Damon Clarke and Coby Collins (Palm Beach Currumbin)
AFL Schools Cup PBC SHS premiership winner Collins and his mate Damon Clarke help keep the joint afloat on training nights at Palm Beach Currumbin footy club.
Christian Dowling (Mt Gravatt)
Dowling epitomises everything Mt Gravvat. He has great energy, a positive attitude and puts his body on the line in every game. The young wingman is keen to learn and develop his game as much as possible.
