Tom Trbojevic went down with what appeared to be a significant pectoral injury when reaching out to deny Josh Addo-Carr.
He attempted to stay on the field but on his first run back it was clear he was significantly hampered, and was promptly removed from the field.
Unfortunately considering the high speed, traumatic nature of the injury there is concern for a moderate to severe pec muscle/tendon injury.
Given the ease of diagnosis and the lack of strength in muscle testing a rupture appears highly likely.

The most common place for a pec injury to occur is to the tendon or where the tendon attaches to the muscle, and with not a great cross section of tissue at these points complete ruptures are common when a significant force is applied in a short space of time.
If this is confirmed it isn’t an injury that can be played through, a torn pec significantly affects shoulder function and would leave the Manly fullback playing with one arm.
Re Tom Trbojevic, good news is itâs very hard to tell severity of a muscle/tendon injury just from video footage. But unfortunately with the traumatic nature of pec injuries in tackling motions like that minor strains are rare. If he can somehow escape with a minor strain: 2-4wks

The usual treatment protocol is surgery to repair the tear/rupture which comes with a 10-14 week recovery.
In some hope for Manly and Trbojevic it is difficult to assess the severity of a muscular injury just from video footage, which leaves the possibility he has escaped with a minor strain.
If this is the case he would still likely require 2-4 weeks before a return would be possible to allow for adequate healing and strengthening times.
Trbojevic said in the sheds he didn’t feel a pop but is in plenty of pain.
Vital to Manly’s title credentials, Trbojevic will go for scans on Saturday night.
