The Broncos have been dealt an early blow to their women’s Nines campaign after rising star Tahlulah Tillett went down with a knee injury at training on Sunday.

She has been on the cusp of making her NRLW appearance and joined the female Maroons Origin camp earlier this year in what was supposed to be her comeback season.

But the Cairns product yesterday went down clutching her left knee in an innocuous training drill at Red Hill.

She left training on crutches with her knee bandaged and will get scans this week to assess the damage.

The incident comes as the Broncos began training for their Nines campaign this weekend.

The squad features 11 of their NRLW 2019 premiership-winning players, including Ali Brigginshaw, Meg Ward and Julia Robinson.
