Former NRL star James Maloney’s missing son, Kade, has been found after his family desperately pleaded for help to track down the young teen.
NSW Police released a statement overnight confirming that “a 14-year-old boy reported missing from Green Point has been located safe and well”.
“Police thank the media and the community for their assistance,” it read.
Maloney’s wife, Jess, also confirmed their son had been located in an updated post on social media.
“(Kade) is now safe with our friends,” she wrote around 1am local time, also thanking the community and police for their support and assistance. “We are so grateful.”
The worried mum earlier took to social media to ask for any assistance from the public in helping locate their son who went missing on the NSW Central Coast on Sunday morning.

“Hi everyone we are desperately looking for our son Kade,” Jess wrote.
“He purchase a train ticket at Gosford at 151am. We believe he walked from Green Point to Gosford and is likely headed for the Penrith area.
“We are desperate to know he’s OK and if he doesn’t want us to know exactly where he is that’s OK we just desperately want to know he’s safe.”
NSW Police issued an appeal on Sunday evening to locate the teenager.
“Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy missing from the Central Coast area,” a police statement said.
“Kade Maloney, aged 14, was last seen at Green Point about 10.00pm last night (Saturday 21 December 2024).
“When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
“Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.
“Kade is described as being of caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall with a medium build, with short light brown hair and blue-coloured eyes.
“He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue North Queensland Cowboys football shorts and carrying a black bag.
“Inquiries by police indicate he may have travelled to the Penrith area by train.”
The family had been travelling from Townsville with their four children after relocating to Sydney following James’ stint with the North Queensland Cowboys as an assistant coach.
