NRL Magic Round to stay in Brisbane, says David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral

A Brisbane radio host has revealed an inside ‘scoop’ on the future of the Magic Round in Brisbane after a tip-off during the weekend’s festival of football at Suncorp Stadium.

NRL Magic Round kicks off in Brisbane

The future of the NRL Magic Round in Brisbane is looking bright, according to Nova radio host David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral.

Lutteral on Monday told co-hosts Ash and Susie O’Neill he’d received a scoop following an encounter with Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and NRL CEO Andrew Abdo at the weekend.

“I sat with the Premier on Friday night of the magic round and Andrew Abdo – I literally sat with the two of them at the game, there’s no way we’re losing Magic Round,” Luttsy confidently stated.

“It ain’t going anywhere, Brisbane has Magic Round for, I’m going to say five years … ever, they ain’t moving it.”

Backing up Luttsy’s statement, Brisbane-based comedian Lindsay Webb chimed in on social media after warming up the crowd at Matty John’s Late Show at Suncorp.

“Luttsy is spot on. The Magic Round will defo be staying according to my sources too!” he posted on the Ash, Luttsy, and Susie O’Neil Instagram page.

The comments come after headlines that other rugby league states were looking to poach the annual festival of football.

This year’s NRL Magic Round was a sellout, with tens of thousands of fans injecting $30 million into the state’s economy over the three days.
