Is the best ball playing rugby league player in the Meninga Cup, Connell Cup and Harvey Norman under-19s a five-eight from the Clydesdales?

If Chloe Pallisier isn’t the best, she is in the semi-finals alongside the likes of Cowboys signed Jaxon Purdue (Cutters), Dolphins utility John Fineanganofo (Redcliffe), Broncos boy Coby Black (Bears) and Titans’ signing Zane Harrison (Tweed).

Don’t take our word for it that Pallisier was absolutely sensational in leading her side to a 40-nil win over Ipswich Jets last Sunday.

Here’s what opposing coach, Michael Wardrop, said of her performance: “She was phenomenal with her organising, and long passing game.

“The long ball she hits in the second half, when she digs into the line, is crazy.’’

Western Clydesdales centres Lucy Davis and Jessica Fitzgibbons will be sending her Christmas cards for life given the ball Pallisier presents to them.

She also had a short kicking game, and backed herself to run to the line as well.

It is not as if she was playing against mugs either.

Chloe Pallisier with her old Chinchilla touch football mates in 2016. Now she attends school in Toowoomba and is a star of the Harvey Norman girls’ competitions.

The Clydesdales won 40-nil, but minutes before halftime it was 4-nil as the Jets’ physical forwards rolled up and down the field, matching it with their rivals.

A Chinchilla product, she was first seen by the wider rugby league community when she was Player of the Carnival at the under 12 south west championships in 2018.

Chloe Pallisier was also a south west cricket representative.

Last year she produced a Player of the Match performance in the under 17 Queensland Country win over City, and we expect the Southern Suburbs representative from Fairholme College to be one of the first picked in representative teams this season as well.

More than 1000km apart, edge forwards Brian Pouniu (Redcliffe) and Declan Grady (Cutters) were impressive;

+ Clydesdales prop Shaun Elara makes his second appearance in succession in our Connell Team of the Week;

+ Redcliffe lock Lewis Symonds proved too much to handle in the Meninga Cup clash against Norths. He was simply superb, breaking the line and stopping his opponents in their tracks with equally outstanding defence;

+ Promising Clydesdales under-19s powerhouse Libby Dunn was a forward wonder in her team’s round 6 win over the Jets;

Zac Herdegen had to be included in our Meninga Cup Team of the Week.

+ Ipswich Jets outside backs Saifiti Junior Saifiti and Tayshon Foley combined for four tries in their team’s 34-6 win over the Clydesdales in the Meninga Cup;

+ Tweed fullback Mason Barber continued to tear up the Meninga Cup competition. This time he was influential in a 38-18 win over Souths Logan;

+ Falcons skipper Jackson Kite each nabbing two tries in a big win at home;

+ Impactful Bears prop Brady Turner was wonderful in a seesawing Meninga Cup thriller against the Tigers;

+ Clydesdales’ Connell Cup centre Joseph Litidamu was an automatic inclusion following his match winning try against Ipswich on the cusp of full time;

+ Grubber kicking ace Elijah Breen, the Tigers Connell Cup halfback, coming to the fore in his team’s 28-18 win over Burleigh. He had a touch of class;

+ Phoenix-Raine Hippi and Savannah Roberts-Hickling in a dazzling showing for Tweed’s Harvey under-19s;

+ Tigers’ under-19s edge forward Sky-Yvette Faimalie who provided a punch of the bench. After scoring a try in the 22-point-victory over Burleigh, the young gun flexed her muscles in Sunnybank’s Premier Women trial game.
