After being 26-0 down at half time, Mabel Park SHS won 28-26 in remarkable circumstances.
Selection highlights for our Team of the Season include:
Being spoiled for choice when it came to naming our fullback. With Montoya Hudson (Marsden injured), we went for Mabel Park SHS’s try scoring machine Nazlyn Waaka-Rhind. She pipped Marsden SHS’s Alyssa McCarthy, a class act who made a successful comeback late in the season.

Selection highlights include:
+ A Rolls Royce of outside backs, Mercedez Taualei-Siala was an easy choice on the wing. She will play for the Australian schoolgirls next month.
+ the naming of Ipswich SHS’s Shalom Sauso at No.6.
+ rewarding Mabel Park’s Lily Vaitolo in the side. Do they win the premiership without her grand final effort? We doubt it, such was her ability to dictate the tempo in the second half and steer the ship
+ the selection of goal kicking Keebra Park edge forward Mhia Taylor, a great edge defender
+ Ella Jaye Harrison of Ipswich earned selection on the bench on the strength of her outstanding semi-final performance.
+The selection of Australian schoolgirl middle forwards Alice Shannon and Malaela Su’a
+ the recognition of Kiarah Siauane. She missed some of the season but cameback strongly from injury.
+ Mabel Park SHS’s Danielle Tutakangahau working her way into the hotly contested halves role alongside Ipswich SHS’s Shalom Sauso. Danielle’s kicking game was amazing.
+ Esther Pedro (Ipswich SHS). How can we leave her out of the starting side? With great difficulty, I can tell you. But the Queensland schoolgirls Year 11 student was certainly the discovery player of the schoolgirl season. He love the way she tackles as well as uses the ball.
