The final game of the Queensland Under-16 Cricket Championship was a thriller as Flares and Embers clashed in a 40-overs match at Caloundra Cricket Club.
Flares opened the batting and reached 8/207 in their innings. But Embers were not to be outdone and hit 5/209 in reply to win by six wickets.

4pm: Embers have capped their state championships campaign in thrilling fashion after taking their innings down to the wire against Flares.
Paavan Singh and Tom Campbell laid the foundations with 24 and 26 respectively before Charles Moore stepped it up with 53 from 40 balls (five boundaries and one six) in their chase of 207.
Ryan Pembroke also proved potent by belting 47 off 30 with two boundaries and one six.
Big hits aside, the Embers were smart with their runs, squeezing as much as they could out of each over.
The tactic paid off with Embers chipping away at the mighty target.
Their innings climaxed with the final ball, needing a four to tie or six for the win.
Lucas Sefont proved up to the task, smashing a big six to the cheers of his Embers teammates who ran onto the pitch in celebration.
Sefont finished with 36 runs from 34 balls with Embers winning by six wickets 5/209.
