AFL takes centre stage on The Courier-Mail’s livestream program this week as the first of two weekends of Covid-impacted state finals are played.

Dozens of games will stream from the SEQ junior finals at Yeronga from Friday to Sunday.

We will have two crews at the event on Saturday and Sunday, capturing as many games as we can. It comes a week before the big one, the AFL Schools Cup Invitational event at Maroochydore.

To kick off our week, Monday is the last day of play in the season-ending state age-group basketball championships, with the under-14 girls’ event winding up in Mackay. Ipswich and Gold Coast meet in the main final.

Other highlights this week include the first round of playoffs in Brisbane men’s hockey; finals day for Gold Coast junior rugby; and the first round of the Queensland water polo premier league.

Finals day at the state under-14 girls’ championships in Mackay, Monday:

8am Division 2 9th/10th playoff, Gladstone Power v Townsville Lightning;

9.30am Division 2 Grand Final, Northside Wizards v Sunshine Coast Rip;

11am Division 1 Bronze Medal Game, Cairns Dolphins v Mackay Meteorettes;

12.45pm Division 1 Grand Final, Ipswich Force v GC Waves.

Queensland State League, Saturday:

Northside Wizards v Logan Thunder, women 5pm, men 7pm.

SEQ junior finals, Friday to Sunday:

Two camera crews will capture dozens of games across the weekend. Competing teams were being finalised in qualifying this weekend.

Hockey

Brisbane Hockey League (men), first round of playoffs, Saturday (tentative):

Mix of division 1 playoffs and division 2 finals.

Rugby

Gold Coast junior finals, Saturday:

Under-13, 14, 15 and 16-17 age group finals from Yatala.

Gold Coast premier men match of the round:

Coomera Crushers v Bond Pirates, 3.15pm.

Water polo

Queensland premier league, round 1, Sunday (tentative):

Games from St Andrews on the Sunshine Coast.
