Garville’s hopes of a top two Netball SA Premier League finish recieved a big boost on Friday night as the Greys breezed to victory while another result fell their way. Watch the REPLAYS.

Garville needed to take care of business to stay in touch with the Netball SA Premier League’s top two and did just that, breezing past the Metro Jets in a clinical performance on Friday night.

The Greys were far too strong as they led from start to finish in a 71-45 victory – their eighth from 11 outings this season.

Both the Premier and Reserves matches were exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV.

Fresh off a Super Netball Reserves finals campaign with the Thunderbirds, Garville welcomed shooter Brooke Irlam and midcourter Lucy Denton back into the line up with immediate effect.

Irlam (41 goals) renewed her partnership with Eliza Grenvold (30) to put their last-placed opposition to the sword in the goal circle.

While the Jets showed promising signs in patches, their mistakes were punished by the Greys who particularly took control after quarter-time in a classy display.

Garville remain one win behind second-ranked Contax, which defeated ladder leaders Oakdale on Friday night to add further intruige to the race for top spot.

The Greys, who have three wins from their last five, next face Newton Jaguars, Tango and Oakdale to close out the minor rounds.

Metro Jets meanwhile face more tough assignments with Matrics, Contax and South Adelaide on the cards in their final three matches as they look add a second to their solitary win this season.

However the Jets were able to turn the tables in the reserves, leading at every break to defeat Garville 52-43 in a crucial win in the battle for finals spots.

Garville will look to bounce back from a tough loss to reigning premier Contax when it takes on Metro Jets the Netball SA Premier League on Friday night.

The Greys, currently sitting in third spot, have produced a strong season so far and will be heavily favoured against a less experienced Jets team, who currently sit bottom of the ladder.

Garville finished third last season and will need a big win to remain in touch with the top two, while the Jets will be hoping to improve on last week’s 74-53 loss to Tango.

The young Jets defence will need to pay close attention to Garville shooter Lenze Guidera, who shot 45 goals against Contax in round 10, while centre Tahlia Dnistrjanski will also be one to watch.

For the Jets, Ella Sigley has shown promise in a number of roles, while Ashlea Turner and Samantha Low combined well in attack despite a tough loss to Tango.

They have notched just one victory this season but, after falling to the Greys by just 10 goals in Round 5, will be hopeful of springing an upset.
