Our Palm Beach Currumbin SHS side includes five talents who have played in the NRL this season.
Ahead of the NRL National Schoolboys Cup final on Wednesday, we highlight the powerhouse nature of the Red jersey brand by naming an all-star side which includes Keano Kini (Titans), Xavier Savage (Canberra), Deine Mariner (Broncos), Xavier Willison (Broncos) and Tom Weaver (Titans).
LANGER TROPHY TEAM OF THE YEAR
The national final, between PBC SHS and Sydney juggernauts Westfields Sports High, will be EXCLUSIVELY LIVE STREAMED on KommunityTV for the www.couriermail.com.au, the Gold Coast Bulletin and News Corp affiliates.
It will be played at Allianz Stadium as part of a massive triple header which includes the NSW Schoolboys Trophy final and inaugural National Schoolgirls Cup final between Hills Sports High and Logan City’s Mabel Park State High.
The quality of the side is highlighted by the absence of outstanding halves such as Ryan Rivett, 2022 Queensland schoolboys half Josh Lynn, winger Jett Forbes and a host of working back rowers and middle forwards.

Five-eight, Bailey McConnell: Another current player, McConnell has been awarded the Justin Hodges Medal for Langer Trophy Player of the Year.
Halfback, Tom Weaver: The quick between the areas Weaver made his debut late in the season for Gold Coast. He was the mastermind behind two PBC SHS Langer Trophy campaigns.
Prop, Xavier Willison: The towering prop is an athletic marvel who Broncos fans have been enjoying in the top grade again after he overcame a serious leg injury.
Hooker, Oskar Bryant: He formed a lethal dummy-half-halfback combination with his childhood friend Tom Weaver, the best No. 9-No. 7 partnership in the competition in recent memory.
Prop, Jett Jackson: This is an All-Star side and Jackson’s presence is reward for his non-nonsense style, his work rate and his effort play in the ruck.
Second row, Jack Finigan: Another current player, the athletic Finigan will be a popular choice in this side. Both Jackson and Finigan beat two former Australian schoolboys into our side after being unlucky omissions from our Langer team of the year announced earlier this week.

Reserves
Ryan Foran: The former Australian schoolboys second rower was an edge forward dynamo currently in the Titans system.
Jack Cullen: A front row powerhouse, Cullen was the best schoolboy prop who was the starting point of PBC SHS’s success.
Will Saunders: A current PBC SHS hooker, Saunders has been a revelation this season at the ruck.
Zane Harrison: The 2023 captain, Harrison’s ability to steer his team around the park has been masterful.
Reico Ratana: Both Ratana and Isaish Scanlan, mentioned below, were unsung heroes during their reign at PBC SHS.
Isaiah Scanlan: Ditto above. Scanlan was a thorough professional as a front rower.
Brady Turner: Big man Turner made our Langer Trophy Team of the Year squad announced earlier in the week.
Emergencies
Will Taylor: One of our favourites, the hard working edge forward said everything about the effort PBC SHS players put into making the squad successful.
Tanu Nona: Nonu was a little beauty, a dummy half cushioned in between Bryant and Saunders, but someone who lost little when compared to them.
